Ownage [Oct. 8th, 2006|09:44 pm]
Full text of what Rahm was talking about from This Week

"George, look, I agree with Adam. And I was at my kid's
soccer game. I was out swimming. They're talking about this issue,
Mark Foley, and they're talking about Iraq.

And you guys came to power in 1994. You said you were going to
change Washington. Washington changed you. You promised a balanced
budget. You've added $3 trillion to the nation's debt. You promised
to make America more secure. We've got ourselves in a quagmire in
Iraq.

You promised to clean up this swamp, and you've created a deeper
set of swamps around here. At every point that you promised to do
something in 1994 with your Contract with America, you're in a breach
of contract. And the fact is that this election, the American people
know full well, Adam, that they do not want to stay on the course that
you've set for this country. They want a new direction. They want a
change.

And that's what this election is about: a change from the
endless occupation in Iraq to a change from this wageless recovery,
and most importantly, they also want…"

The whole thing [Oct. 1st, 2006|08:21 pm]
the text of the email too lazy to add back in the emphasis

THIS FALL

Republicans may lose control of the House of Representatives this fall. Political analysts expect Republicans to lose 15-20 seats, enough to put the Democrats in control.

We cannot let Cut-and-Run Democrats like John Murtha or Impeachment-hungry psychos like Nancy Pelosi take control of the House of Representatives. The Democrats have already made it clear that they will try to impeach President Bush if they gain control of the House.

Unfortunately, Washington Congressman Dave Reichert is one of the Democrats top targets. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is going to spend $1.5 million to defeat him. A recent poll even has Reichert trailing 46-49!!!

In response, the WCRF is implementing a strong defense to hold Reichert's seat. The Congressman needs your help to get re-elected. Beginning in October, the WCRF will be holding "Reichert Express" weekends where students will be brought into his district to protect Republican control of the House:

What: Reichert Express

When: October 6-8th, we leave Friday night and return Sunday night

Where: 8th Congressional District (Bellevue, Kent, Auburn and parts of Pierce County)

The WCRF will cover all costs - FREE LODGING, FREE FOOD and FREE TRANSPORTATION

Please sign-up IMMEDIATELY!!!

RSVP: chairman@wcrf.us or 206-790-6255

The 8th Congressional could decide which party controls the House next year. We must re-elect Dave!

What the republicans feer most part II. [Oct. 1st, 2006|08:17 pm]
Shit, I just read the rest of the email. they are bussing in students from all over the state to lobby for Reichart who is currently in trouble according to internal polls. the email indicated 3 points but I am guessing with the shifting demografics of the district and the propagandistic nature of the email that he really might be down more then 5$ in the race. This is an effort to help a stalling campaign. Thank god the demcrats got a real canidate this year.

What republicans are really scared of. [Oct. 1st, 2006|08:11 pm]

Yes thats right, they are afraid of impeachment. They have a good reason to be too. If the democrats do manage to win they will hold hearings, out of those hearings the truth will come. Once the truth gets out in the open a slim republican majority in the senate won't be able to politicaly block impeachment. this is the most criminal presidency in almost 100 years. Imagine what happens when the light shines in. The republicans will take a serious blow. Vote democrat, vote for justice.

New Poll numbers in CT [Aug. 17th, 2006|11:42 am]
So the new poll numbers are in in CT. Leibermen is 11 points up on lamont including leaners and slightly more without them.
Schlesigner isn't even in the race right now with 4%
Which means that leiberman is ahead with more then half the republican vote, althouhg polls are showing that he only has the support of about 30% of democrats. I predict that this foothold will decrease the closer we come to november and the more lieberman embraces the president and the republicans. I also think Schlesinger is going to begin to campaign seriously for the republican spotlight. I think that he feels rightfully so. so I see Lamont winning, but I could be wrong

Some Cool Blog's I found [Aug. 15th, 2006|04:22 pm]
[Tags|]

So, I have been looking at a verity of blogs, and I found some cool ones

Two that are done by a camera man in israel are very interesting.
- .1of1% is a running blog but it also contains a lot of little details about life on the border between isreal and Lebanon that aren't nessessarily avialible to people elsewhere

- Unholylandnews is a great blog about covering the war from the israeli border, news hounds will find it more interesting although I think the running blog, allows for deeper insight.

I have also been reading the The Huffington post which is how I found out about 2 kidnapped reporters in GAZA, since it has been mainly out of the mainstream news. Unlike the CSM with Jill Carol, their employer fox news, hasn't said anything officially about the kidnapping. The TVNEWSER has comprehensive coverage.

I also checked out blogs, at the NRSC site and the DNC site which are both interesting. Canny political observers would be served by reading both blogs regularly and tracking mistakes by which ever one of the two parties they find abhorant. I have also been reading the Lamont blog over at www.nedlamont.com

DVD TV Show's [Aug. 15th, 2006|03:11 pm]
So for those of you who aren't living in the 60's there is this thing called a DVD. it has revolutionized marketing because now you can get an entire season of a show in 1 tiny disc case instead of in one of those giant huge boxes. As a result it has become cheap and shows have spread over the DVD market.

I don't own any however because I think its passe and somewhat expencive to own shows that you can watch for free and either teevo or just channel surf the commercials out. However, after a conversations with my homeboy Eric, i think that some TV Shows would be really cool to have on DVD and marthon through. I have allready done this with some shows, like the west wing. So here are the shows I want on DVD:

Battle Star Galatica
Deep Space 9
The West wing
24
The Tick (cartoon and or Live action)
The savage Dragon
Babylon 5
Space above and beyound
Band of Brothers
The Family Guy
The Chapell Show
The Outer limits
The twilight zone
Undergrads
Mission hill
hmmmm... I watch a lot of tv... So I am sure that I will think of more.

Life imitates art, imitates life [Aug. 15th, 2006|02:56 am]
The west wing is one of my favorite shows on television. Not just because I am a crazy liberal, who loves democrats, but also because it was well written and some times subtly funny. I remember in this one episode Josh puts a question in the a poll with out checking with CJ about moving the press corps across teh street, to see if its a good idea. His ulterior motive is that there is an indoor pool under the press room. This, of course comes back to blow up in his face... ah... what laughter that crazy josh liemen caused me.

So in a case of life imitating art, I was looking at the huffington post and discovered this short about the fate of the press corps. It surpises me that after 6 years of bootliking with narry a fact check the press corps is giving such a short straw... It's like antithetical to to the nature of the Bush administration. they should be giving the press corps a medal of freedom or helping them run as independents in states with weak republicans to support. well reading the article 14 lucky bootlickers get to stay at the white house every one else is across the street in a "cozy" breifing room.

Ned Lamont Blog [Aug. 11th, 2006|02:05 am]
There has been a ton of activity over on the Lamont blog. It's all good stuff, really repeating some of the dish on national disgrace, holy joe loserman.

Well, the republican's love holy Joe, and out here in Washington State Mike McGavick (r) canidate for US sentate was quick to embrace leiberman and endorse his canidacey as were Karl Rove, a repulbican canidate for senate in MN, Tony Snow, dick chenney, and others in the republican leadership. Joe-mentum has for his part embraced these ideological commerads, and is proving himself to be a loyal republican.

On the site haxored news this from the Lamont blog this.
"Ummm … the Lieberman campaign sent out a mass email on the morning of the election. Further, they invited their entire list to attend a “victory party” at 5 PM … three hours before the polls closed.

Just sayin … let’s stop repeating that they didn’t have the ability to communicate with supporters via email."

Joe leiberman's site finally took down there misleading messege on the "hacking of there site" but they left it up untill atleast 12pm est. meaning it was up for about 3 days, still no site. I am ashamed that it takes this long to get the site back up. seriosuly joe give me a Grand I will have my brother design your site and have it up in about 2 hours, be way better then what you have now.

This from Kos on how stupid the web team is

"Dan Geary is an idiot -- underscored not just by his inability to get the site working on election day, but by the fact that three days later, it's still offline.

I expect this story won't die until we get the full truth. And I expect there to be repercussions -- and the appropriate media coverage -- if it turns out that the Lieberman campaign wasted the resources of the FBI for political gain.

Turning things knee-jerk over to the FBI without investigating the possible causes of the outages is pure negligence and abuse of our law enforcement agencies."

People were worried when they heard that leiberman was going to run and an independent and get an R in the senate, but the thing is Joe has pissed off a lot of democrats now, and with all the republican's throwing support his way, he will actually split the republican vote, and syphon off minimal votes from lamont. Now its a long way of and there's still time for some Gary heart size revalations to come out and sink the Lamont ship, but barring that I predict that he wins in november especailly if the GOP keeps giving the democrats something to prove.

An interesting thing about this election is that the primary and the post primary media coverage has give the democrats their strongest boost yet. the adminstartion was wrong, and congress hasn't been there to adequetly make sure that mistakes have been corrected. We need to hold people accountable, and only the democrats can do that. regardless of your position on the war if your a democrat it's really easy to point out that the war has been waged badly. this messege that there is no anti security wing of the democratic party is now starting to gain traction. In short, Democrats are strong on security, just ask all the veterans who are going to vote blue this novemeber so that we can actually do something about a fucked up situation that joe Lieberman and the rest of the republican party thnk we should stay the course in. We should take a lesson from israel. When you can't beat hesbolah after 20 years, you pull out. Hopefully we learn a lesson and make sure that when we leave we don't leave a scorched earth with no infostucture where our enemies can rebuild and come back and hit us from in a few years. No democrat will with draw from Iraq, no democratic congress will unilaterially withdraw from Iraq. we are just going to do the job right. Hopefully we get a chance before we do have to pull out.

Nixon ended a war on his way out, and american suffered, Bush ended a war, and nothing got done. Truman ended a war and america prospered, Clinton ended two years, and those countries have prospered. It's time for change.

Let's elect a party that knows how to govern.

Leiberman's site hack [Aug. 10th, 2006|02:07 am]
well one of the biggest controversies of the campaign has been the leiberman cite hack. That's right Holy Joe loserman's website is still down.

UPDATE ON THE ATTACK ON THE LIEBERMAN CAMPAIGN WEBSITE

STATEMENT FROM SEAN SMITH: "For the past 24 hours the Friends for Joe Lieberman's website and email has been totally disrupted and disabled, we believe that this is the result of a coordinated attack by our political opponents. The campaign has notified the US Attorney and the Connecticut Chief State's Attorney and the campaign will be filing a formal complaint reflecting our concerns. The campaign has also notified the State Attorney General Dick Blumenthal for his review."

"We call on Ned Lamont to make an unqualified statement denouncing this kind of dirty campaign trick and to demand whoever is responsible to cease and desist immediately. Any attempt to suppress voter participation and undermine the voting process on Election Day is deplorable and has no place in our democracy."

That's right Holy joe's site hasn't recovered yet. I guess after firing/losing all those people because of his bid as an independent, he doesn't have the joe-mentum to get it up.

whats below is a copy of a post on ned lamonts blog by someone who has discovered what really happened to the site

[Posted exclusively at NedLamont.com/blog]

Just to follow-up on the Joe2006.com brouhaha where Lieberman accuses “Lamont supporters” of disabling his website between 08/07 and 08/8.

1. As JL’s web consultant —Dan Geary—complains , Joe’s site was previously hacked last month by someone self-identified as “TheHacker” [mistyped by Geary or The Advocate as “ThHacker”].

2. A website called Zone-H.org maintains a global archive of hacks either submitted or updated by hackers themselves, including TheHacker.

3. Here’s the Zone-H entry submitted by TheHacker for the 7/10 attack on Joe2006.com

4. Next, click on the link to attacker stats and it becomes abundantly clear by the sheer volume and indiscriminate nature of attacks that TheHacker is not a “political” operative but foremost and primarily an internet saboteur.

5. Then read this story in the New York Sun about a Turkish hacker with the handle of “eno7” who defaced a web page at Yeshiva University Tuesday—a coincidence not unnoticed by conspiracy theorists at the Sun.

6. This is the Zone-H entry submitted by eno7 for the 8/8 attack on Yeshiva University

7. Next, click again on the link to attacker stats . Unlike TheHacker, eno7 did, according to the Sun, leave comments [since removed at Yeshiva] suggesting an overtly political agenda against the Israeli-Lebanon war, “government sites, Israel sites, military sites, university sites, and other important sites like NASA”. But, in perusing eno7’s resumé, it was quickly apparent eno7 had also hacked anti-Israel sites leaving the same anti-war messages, among other sites that had nothing to do with Israel, the United States, NASA, governments or universities.

The messages meanwhile, partly written in Turkish, do suggest Turkish provenance with a consistent “anti-war” theme. But to: 1) assert any relation between largely indiscriminate global perpetrators like eno7, TheHacker etc. and the Lamont campaign; 2) accuse in writing as the Lieberman campaign did that global perpetrators who routinely deface & disable websites running Joomla content [like Joe2006.com] as TheHacker and Eno7 routinely do [17,400 Google hits] may be part of “a coordinated attack by our political opponents”, as Lieberman’s campaign stated—is not only defamatory, spurious, infantile, irresponsible, unsubstantiated and unfactual, but surely and perhaps, following a full and complete FBI investigation [exculpating Lamont’s campaign]—libelous.

So, it wasn't lamont.

Apperently joe's faith prevents him from having success with technology. The one time Larry king asks a tough question there is a "technicl malfunction" with the audio.

Rooting for your team [Jul. 31st, 2006|05:00 pm]
http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3284260,00.html
This article compares the war in lebanon to a foot ball game. It occurs to me that the conflict is a little like rooting for the stealers in the superbowl. A team with a bigger budget, better training, more equipment (ok difference isn't as extreme) Agianst upstarts that just won't die. It takes ref interference (the US increasing arms shipments) in order to keep up the offencive. yeah... the conflict is alot like the superbowl, and just like the superbowl, refs fucking up (yeah, you candi) means that A lot of people are going to go home disapointed and maybe a little bit hurt. Except for in this game the stakes are life and death, and the fans aren't just disapointed they are destroyed, bombed and masacre. I am no anti-semite I just find it a bit Ironic that a people agianst whom so many war crimes were commited have become one of the largest human rights abusing nations in the world. Yeah... irony.

Rick Scrotorum [Jul. 19th, 2006|07:14 pm]
So, Rick Santorum Made an interesting statement from the floor of the senate that shows the dichotomy of both the extreme prolife movement and the callousness of the republican elite to any form of decent from their ideology.

Santorum said from the floor of the senate that, "Every life whether in a suspended life in an IVF clinic, or standing on the floor of the U.S. Senate attempting to defend and protect those suspended lives - every life has meaning. Every life deserves protection under our Constitution."

While this statement on the whole endorses life, the slant of this statement implies bias agianst those who disagree.
"Every life whether in a suspended life in an IVF clinic, or standing on the floor of the U.S. Senate attempting to defend and protect those suspended lives - every life has meaning. Every life deserves protection under our Constitution."

So the lives that Santorum values, are those who aren't born, and aren't going to be born, and the righteous. Now while this statement plays to his base. It is unethical because it both denies or deminishes the value of of the lives of those who don't agree. It also degrades those who would benifit immediately from the research.

The other thing is that the live that sentorum values are not valued by the society. So while Santorum want to prevent research from being done on these "lives" and wishes death on those who need help, the very lives that he is trying to protect are being destroyed when money runs out and the embryo's are being destroyed when the cash runs out to keep them cold.

While stem cell research can be done while not using stemcells from embryos, countries in the foregound of stem cell research, all use the embryo's that are otherwise going unused. More over, becuase its easier to experment on them and then aply that to older stem cells in short. you figure out how then new stemcells work and then use those results to unlock old stemcells. so by sacrificing "some lives" now we save lives later.

But I digress. Sanntorum's statement is unethincal becuase it otherizes and dehumanizes people simply for there political view, and if you look at the aspect of the constitution, Santurom is implying that only fetus's and prolifers deserve to be able to speak freely. I order to make reparations santorum must clarigy. I am a person too, even though i value a women's right to choose. We shouldn't limit personhood to a specific politic, even though we may not agree with the other side. the right needs to open up their imagery in there dialog for a better rhetoric.

One thing I meant to say, and the reason why I did all the styling on the quote was to show how Scrotorum constructs a image of person hood in his simble that is limited to fetuses and prolifers. By only using two images one of them being those on his side of the debate and the other being the object of debate and then fallowing it up with EVery life, Santorum is creating a symble of personhood that is being transmitted through his rhetoric. This symbol leaves out half the field.

As martha stuart would say, "and that's a bad thing"

Would you like a crumpet to go with your cup of apocolypse [Jul. 19th, 2006|02:29 am]
So, we have a situation in the middle east. Let's just call it fucked... Yeah that seems like an adequette discription of the situation. It's a bit baffling that the United States has been so ineffectual on the middle east. this is the first president to leave the middle east worse then he found it. Sure the infidata started under clinton, but otherwise things in the region weren't that bad. The bush administration has seen major terrorist attacks through out the middle east, and US politics can that can be seen by the rest of the world as well... amazingly stupid.

I mean really, the bush administration should have doen something right in this part of the world by now. It makes me wonder why they haven't. I mean probablity would indicate that the bush administartions actions should have produced some progress forward in some way. I mean one hope of thread. But they haven't take stock of the middle east.
